it makes the paint blend better. and use rubbing alcohol like for a cut. the kind that makes things sterile. What happens when you mix alchohol with acrylic and what type of alchohol? I heard that it's cool.?
Water is the medium of choice with acrylics. The other products sold by the paint companies that are for blending and mixing, or thickening and thinning are based off of Palomar emulsions. As a professional acrylic artist for over 30 years I would not recommend any kind of alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is sometime OK to try to clean stubborn dried on paint in brushes. For instance the fabric medium stuff Liquitex sells is just another version of the above. Golden Gax has a series of products. The thing is if this was a great idea, the paint companies would put a fancy name on it;, raise the price allot and sell it, and they don't.
