just like the question :-pWhat are ';acrylic polymers';? **please help, asap**?
Acrylic polymers are polymers made from the acrylic monomers.

Most popular is Methyl Methacrylate, MMA

PMMA is made in sheets in the form of Perspex, Lucite, Plexiglas etc. Used for point of sale, shop signs, glazing for boats, bath tubs etc

Filled acrylic polymers, PMMA + a filler eg Silica, Alumina Tri Hydrate etc are used for acrylic based kitchen sinks, Kitchen worktops etc.

Acrylic, PMMA is also found in various resins etc from trophies to dental fillings.

PMMA is also made into beads that is used for injection moulding things like rear lights for cars.

Acrylic generally as good weathering properties and so is suitable for outside applications.

There are other acrylic monomers that are used in various resins / paints / coating etc.

Hope this helps. What are ';acrylic polymers';? **please help, asap**?
Acrylic polymers are the plastics or plasticides that bond paints-water based latexs for example. Because they contain them they have ';give'; so with the new enviornmental laws slowing sales on oil based paints etc-these new paints can work well in the kitchen or bathrooms where moisture andheat can be a problem.
