Is acrylic paint suitable for outside painting of a house or must you use oil base paint?

Oil based paint is mostly used in the kitchen and bath, acrylic is the most common for exterior use as it is more flexible. Just remember that preparation is the most work and well worth the effort, just be sure to use a top grade acrylic. You may want to check consumer reports for their ratings. No acrylic. Acrylic is water soluble and will wear off much faster than enamel. It will also bubble on a hot summer day. This will cause flaking when it cools down. Use exterior paint only.
Commercial exterior paints are defacto for painting outer walls. Anything less would compromise the structure and beauty of the place over the years.
