Acrylic Deck Stain Peeling?

We bought a house last year. Previous owners stained the deck with Cabot Acrylic based stain. It's peeling everywhere. We powerwashed and some came off, we then used Behr Stain stripper, some came off but the deck looks horrible. We don't want to stain over this peeling mess, for fear that the stain will come out differently over the peeled/non peeled parts. Any suggestions?Acrylic Deck Stain Peeling?
water an oil base paints or stains ! sounds like a water base stain was aplyed over an oil base stain cause'n the peeling. to correct this problem [wirebrush off any loose or peeling stain ], recoat deck with darker [ oilbased stain] stain can be tricky, there are transparent, semi transparent, and solid stains [i recomed a solid stain]Acrylic Deck Stain Peeling?
One suggestion: Just stop using the Behr line. You think you have problems now. Just wait until you put on Behr semi-transparent plastic. ';See a bear, in the woods, wait then run. See a Behr in Home Depot, just run...'; Peeling, spotting, hazing common. TWP, CWF, SWs woodscape, anything is better!

I have the same problem with an acrylic stain peeling. I scraped and sanded a test area and then applied an oil-based stain...looked horrible. I may try a belt sander to get the rest up but, if not, I plan to just scrap and sand the rest and re-apply an acrylic stain to cover it up.
